Take a detour and embark on a road trip away from the crowded highways. Detour is a project celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the U.S. Highway system and beyond. This remarkable network of highways and the thousands of miles of connecting roads across America changed the way Americans lived and opened up new opportunities for a better life. Today, a hundred years removed from a nation of rural living, we find ourselves yearning for a quieter and more peaceful moment away from our urban lifestyles. Let Detour help with these getaways even if it's only for a Sunday drive or a long weekend.

Detour is an oncoming project of short travel videos sharing special locations, forgotten places, and lesser known places. Some will feature historic destinations, special events and some will feature simply beautiful relaxing locations. There are thousands of miles of connecting roads onto and off our U.S. Highways that lead to places most will never travel unless these places are shared. This is exactly what Detour is about, providing useful visuals and information. Each video will be linked to our website where travel information can be downloaded and easy to follow directions.

Want to contribute to a fun project?

Location ideas are always welcome, (locations must fit the above description). If you know of a special place, a forgotten place, a little known place, a historic place or a beautiful place you think might be a great video and want to share, let us know. Please give details about the location. We’ll do the research and if we think it has that special element for a video we’ll be in touch and you'll get the credit for sharing.

These projects wouldn’t be possible without funding from special people. Every project is different and each has its set of challenges. Each Project can run anywhere from $2000 to $10,000 to produce, sometimes more. If you’re one of those special people who would like to contribute to this project we welcome your interest. Each donor or sponsor will be recognized at the end of a video with a Special Thanks Credit. We will contact you to inform you which project your funding helped create. We have several levels of sponsorships:

One Mile Club: Contributions from $25 to $99. Special Thanks Credit in video

Ten Mile Club: Contributions from $100 to $499. Special Thanks Credit in video and beautiful Detour logo embroidery hat.

Hundred Mile Club: Contributions from $500 to $999. Special Thanks Credit in video, beautiful logo embroidery hat and sweatshirt with Detour logo.

Coast to Coast Club: Contributions over $1000. Please call

Corporate Sponsors: $10,000 and above. (Corporate sponsors can name a specific location they want showcased provided they fit Detour's mission as stated above. Corporate sponsors have the opportunity to see video before it goes public and have their logo or branding placed in opener and ending credits).
