Eastern Texas looks nothing like what most think when mentioning Texas.   Every November the southern cypress swamp begins turning red, and cool mornings create potential fog and mist on the cypress swamp draped in Spanish moss.

This photography tour is made possible by my good friend Adam Jones. Adam has built a friendship with the best boat captain on the lake who knows these waters better than any other. Adam has asked me to conduct these photo tours in 2024. You can be assured, our 30 plus years of working together, your experience will be equally rewarding and full of wonderful opportunities behind your camera. 

The lake is stunning and such an unknown wonderland for fall photography.  To have any noteworthy access to the lake, a boat is necessary.   Adam has reserved the perfect private boat ready for our photographic adventure in this unique landscape.  This workshop is strictly limited to 6 participants, so please make your reservations as soon as possible.

We will be out on the lake each day in the morning before sunrise and again each evening for a sunset shoot.  Approximately 3 hrs. each morning and evening session.  During the middle of the day, we explore Caddo Lake State Park, where we shoot from easy walking trails and an elevated dock/boardwalk.   This is a very easy workshop; very little walking is required!

• Devoted to helping you see creatively in the field. We'll discuss your equipment and help you understand and make the best use of your equipment. You'll learn how to analyze your     subject and how to make the best creative decisions for the situation you have on location. One on one instruction is offered throughout the workshop.

First workshop session: November 7 - 11, 2024. (Only 1 spot remains for first workshop session as of February 10)
Meet at 6 pm on November 7th. This will be our meet and greet and prepare for our morning departure. The following three days we'll be on the lake for an early morning photo shoot and back out for an evening shoot. Each session is about 3 hours. Upon our evening return from the lake on November 10th I will meet up with my second group. From this point you will be on your own. I recommend spending the night and departing on morning of November 11th.

Second workshop session: November 10 - 14, 2024 (Only 3 spots remain for second workshop session as of February 10)
Meet at 7 pm on November 10th. This will be our meet and greet and prepare for our morning departure. The following three days we'll be on the lake for an early morning photo shoot and back out for an evening shoot. Each session is about 3 hours. Upon our evening return from the lake on November 13th our workshop will come to an end. I recommend spending the night and departing on morning of November 14th.

Deposit $500. Balance $2200 payable 60 days before workshop date.

Fitness Level: Easy - Very little walking, most photography is from boat.
Best Airport for Arrival and departure: Shreveport, LA (approx 35 miles from Hotel). Second option: Dallas-Ft Worth (approx 2 hour drive)
